Embedding Equality and Diversity into the Curriculum

This course will help you learn more about embedding equality and diversity into both leadership and curriculum development and the competencies needed to achieve this.
It provides a starting point for identifying your skills and areas for your own and others’ professional development
The ownership and visibility around equality beyond the college specialist is critical as is the representation of equalities within institution leadership roles, session planning and delivery of teaching and learning.
This will provide opportunities for leading work around equality and diversity which will make connections and help with understanding the big issues such as the ways in which learning can and should have an impact on behaviour, attitudes and actions of learners, preparing them for the society in which they live and work.

By the end of the session, delegates will be able to:
- Build equality and diversity into teaching and learning more effectively
- Explore the strengths and weaknesses of commonly-used methods and resources
- Explore new and different resources and identify how they could be effectively used in future curriculum, design development and delivery
- Review a set of resources which they will be able to feedback on
