This pack provides advice and guidance for legal services firms on their duties and responsibilities to good equality and diversity practice.
It is aimed at solicitors, barristers and other legal services companies that deal with the public and who are bound by the SRA (Solicitors Regulation Authority) Code of Conduct 2011.
The SRA Code of Conduct sets out ten mandatory principles of conduct, of which number nine is: “[you must] run your business or carry out your role in the business in a way that encourages equality of opportunity and respect for diversity”.
Failure to comply with this principle may also result in contravention of principles one and six:
