Unconscious Bias with equality, diversity and inclusion threaded throughout - Half Day Training Course

We have found that for unconscious bias training to be effective, delegates need to have some prior knowledge of equality and diversity, including the latest developments in legislation, case law and how businesses are affected.

With this in mind, we recommend a half day equality and diversity session, followed by a half day Unconscious Bias session

However, we know that due to time constraints, this is not always possible.

This combined course is aimed at organisations that want Unconscious Bias training but have not recently had equality, diversity and inclusion training and want a half day session. The 3 hour session covers Unconscious Bias but has equality, diversity and inclusion threaded throughout.

The overall aim of the course is to help individuals in organisations begin to get an understanding of unconscious bias and a wider awareness of unconscious bias in daily activity/ behaviour.

Through an innovative and engaging workshop we aim to identify solutions and processes that will combat bias and enable staff to be proactive change agents.

This half day training course (3 hours) provides an informative and interactive session to help delegates understand the impact of unconscious bias on their working lives and become more aware, less biased and more inclusive.

Course Aims

This course aims to enable delegates to:

raise awareness of the theory and science to unconscious bias
explore the origins of bias, stereotypes and prejudice
explore how to challenge unconscious bias
gain an understanding of the practical steps to take towards better identifying bias
develop a greater sense of self-awareness and mindfulness
be able to develop a personal development plan to minimise biases
be empowered to act as a change agent, driving inclusive behaviours and attitudes that promote positive workplace practices

By the end of the training delegates will have:

Who should attend?

This course is suitable for anyone, as everyone has biases. We are all prone to jumping conclusions, misjudging people and favouring some more than others, way more than we ever realise.

This course will help delegates minimise the potentially harmful effects of unconscious bias. Delegates will be equipped with a range of tools and skills to do something about unconscious bias in the workplace
